Plot : Rizwan Khan (Tanay Chheda) is a Muslim child who grew up with his brother Zakir and his mother (Zarina Wahab) in a middle class family in the Borivali section of Mumbai. Rizwan is different from the other children and no one, including his mother, can understand why. However, he has certain gifts, particularly a special ability to repair any machine that is broken. His difference leads to special tutoring from a reclusive scholar and extra attention from his mother. This attention, however, leads to a heightened level of jealousy from his brother Zakir, who eventually leaves his family for a life in the United States.

Dying Breed 2008

Plot : Tasmania, Australia---one of the world's most isolated islands. It is rumored that, deep within the wilderness, an ancient species known as the Tasmanian Tiger is alive and breeding. Yet, modern science refuses to believe such a creature now exists, since no witnesses have ever been able to prove it. That is, until zoology student Nina (Mirrah Foulkes), claims she can breach Tasmania's impenetrable forests and confirm the tigers' existence. Driving Nina's quest is one critical piece of proof: a photo of a paw print taken by her sister just before she met with a fatal accident eight years before.

In the early 19th century, the murderous convict Alexander Pearce (aka "The Pieman") had broken out of prison twice, and each time he had killed and eaten his fellow escapees. But what Nina doesn't know is that, before he was hung for cannibalism in 1824, he'd spawned a blood line who inherited his taste for human flesh. Soon, Nina and her friends discover that in the wild, as one species may have died out, another has thrived---in the form of the Pieman's descendants. When she sets out with her partner, Matt (Leigh Whannell), his old mate, Jack (Nathan Phillips), and his girlfriend, Rebecca (Melanie Vallejo), their little expedition encounters the island's reigning breed, but one who stands on two legs, not four. A Hong Kong audio technician named Ziqi (Mike He) dreams of the most romantic sound on earth. He meets a girl named Baiye (Li Xiaolu) who is traveling around the world, and together they embark on a long trek in China inside her trailer. He falls helplessly in love with her, but the relationship is abruptly ended when she reveals to him that she is terminally ill, and then leaves him quietly. The downhearted Ziqi returns to Hong Kong, only to bump into a girl that looks exactly like his lost love...

The initial conceit of LOVE AT SEVENTH SIGHT is so painfully formulaic that it almost doesn't need summarizing. Taiwanese actor Mike Hu plays Hong Kong lad Ziqi, a film sound engineer, who travels to Beijing to record some genuine sounds of silence. Almost immediately he is offered a lift by the beautiful, yet elusive Bei Ye (Li Xiao Lu) in her smartly renovated camper van. She is headed in the same direction on some impulsive journey of escape and, well, he needs a ride. True to form, there is a simmering attraction, yet something is not quite right and before you can say "terminal illness", we learn that tragedy is only a few precious moments away.
